Zorana Foley Elected Vice President with Unanimous Vote from the Administrative Board

THE SONAR INSTITUTE is proud to announce the election of Zorana Foley as Vice President of the Administrative Board, following a unanimous vote from the board members. Foley, a postgraduate student specializing in policy analysis, security, and conflict resolution, brings a wealth of experience and a strong academic background to her new role.

Foley officially applied for the position, expressing her enthusiasm for contributing to the organization’s expansion and implementation of its objectives through strategic media campaigns and objective reporting. Her application highlighted her extensive experience in media analysis, political strategy, and contemporary affairs, making her an invaluable asset to the board.

In her role as Vice President, Foley will oversee ongoing projects, organize Dublin-based events, engage with high-level stakeholders such as embassy officials, and make final decisions on the content published on the English-speaking platform. Her responsibilities will also include assisting in the preparation and implementation of structural changes within the organization, analyzing development potential, and managing communication between different organizational branches.

Foley’s academic journey includes a BSc in International Relations from Canterbury Christ Church University, an MA in International Conflict Analysis from the University of Kent, and an MSc in International Politics from Trinity College Dublin. Her research experience spans various areas, including political economy, ethnic conflict, conflict resolution policies, AML-forgery detection frameworks and hyper-nationalism, with a focus on the relationship between austerity in the UK and its influence on the Brexit vote.

Before her election, Foley served as a Project Manager (‘Deputy Ambassador‘) at THE SONAR INSTITUTE, where she organized local projects targeting the United-Kingdom-based members and universities — and led teams dedicated to events involving diplomatic officials, NGOs, and student organizations. Her role also included editing content for the online platform, further showcasing her organizational and editorial skills.

President Agathe Flambard expressed confidence in Foley’s abilities, noting her commitment to the values of transparency, objectivity, multiculturalism, and diversity. “Zorana’s remarkable analytical capabilities -not to mention her many other distinguished talents- and her passion for international affairs make her a perfect fit for the role of Vice President. We look forward to her contributions in advancing our organization’s mission.

THE SONAR INSTITUTE is excited to have Foley in this leadership position and anticipates significant advancements under her guidance.
