Irish Consulate in Hong Kong Hosts Meeting with Emerging Tech Leaders and Innovators

Hong Kong — The Consulate General of Ireland in Hong Kong recently hosted a significant meeting with ten global laureates from the Huawei Seeds for the Future Summit, highlighting the strong ties between Ireland and Hong Kong in technology and innovation. The event was attended by the Deputy Consul General and featured prominent figures from the tech industry, including Niall Dorr, Founder of the Hong Kong-based AI company ImageDeep.

The laureates—Aimée Concannon, Oisin Callan, Seán Hilliard, Katie Power, Tadhg Kearney, Emily Noël, Fionn Bracken, Kevin Giles, Peter O’Donoghue, and Yann Blake—are recognized for their exceptional contributions and achievements in technology. These emerging leaders had the unique opportunity to engage in discussions on technological advancements, international collaboration, and the future of AI with experienced professionals and diplomats.

The Deputy Consul General, representing Consul General David Costello, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of fostering strong international relations and supporting young innovators. Niall Dorr, with over two decades of experience in the computer vision industry and a notable background in developing and selling technology companies, shared his expertise with the attendees. Bridget Mullane, a structural engineer and company head from Newcastle West, Co. Limerick, also attended the event. Known for her dynamic presence in both the engineering field and the business community in Hong Kong, Mullane added, “Building bridges, both literally and figuratively, is at the heart of our mission.
