Malala Yousafzai was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her tireless fight for every child’s right to education. Born in the Swat Valley, Pakistan, Malala bravely documented the burning of girls’ schools under Taliban rule in 2008. Despite surviving an assassination attempt by the Taliban in 2012, she continued to advocate for education, leading to international acclaim and speaking at the United Nations on her 16th birthday.
